Saadani Safari Lodge
Located inside Saadani National Park, Tanzania’s only coastal wildlife reserve, close to Saadani village.
THE ACCOMMODATION
9 tented cottages all beachfront and stylishly designed with en suite bathroom and private verandah with an enclosed area with a double bed for sleeping out under the stars.

The Siri suite is the lodge's honeymoon cottage. Slightly removed from the rest of the lodge the suite offers plenty of space and privacy with its own bar area and plunge pool, a love seat overlooking the creek and large lounge area.
The newest additions to the Lodge are the Maridadi bandas. Very spacious beachfront cottages with enclosed outdoor showers these are more like a private house compared to the classic beach bandas.

THE FACILITIES
The main restaurant and bar area specialises in seafood and overlooks the ocean.

There is a 24 metre beachside swimming pool as well as a smaller more secluded fresh water swimming pool.

At the rear of the lodge a hide overlooks a large waterhole which attracts a variety of wildlife and birdlife.
THE SAFARIS
Saadani is unique as being the only coastal wildlife reserve in Tanzania. The highlight of any visit to Saadani is the boat safari on the Wami river. Half day game drives and walking safaris are also offered from the lodge and visits to the local communities can be arranged on request.
Offshore sailing trips to nearby sandbars make a complete contrast to the game viewing safaris.
THE VERDICT
Geographically Saadani is the closest game viewing park to both Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
Saadani Safari Lodge offers a convenient and comfortable base from which to explore this unique environment and is currently the only lodge located inside the park.
A great place to either start or end a safari and also just a 15 min flight from Zanzibar.
