KIPEPEO BEACH VILLAGE

Located 8km south of Dar es Salaam city centre on a lovely stretch of beach.

THE ACCOMMODATION

20 elevated bandas are set back from the beach and have en suite bathrooms downstairs. Upstairs is a large bed raised on a platform and the room leads onto a balcony offering sea views.

THE FACILITIES

The restaurant serves a snack menu as well as a la carte and the beach bar is a popular hang out.
There are several beachfront shaded bandas and the beach is clean and good for swimming at high and low tide.

THE ACTIVITIES

Trips to nearby Gezaulole village and dhow cruises to Sinda island can be organised at the hotel.

THE VERDICT

Kipepeo feels a world away from Dar es Salaam (but in reality just 10 min by car) and if planning to stay in Dar a few days is an excellent base to escape the heat and hassle of the city.
The bandas are breezy and the beach is as good as any in Zanzibar – a great place to relax before or after safari at a reasonable price.
