Mwagusi Safari Camp

Nestled into a bank of the Mwagusi Sand River in the north east section of the park, this is a small exclusive tented camp in a fabulous location. The sand river bed below the tents attracts a constant flow of wildlife.

THE ACCOMMODATION

The 10 spacious tents are set beneath large thatched bandas and designed in a traditional style. Funky bathrooms are attached to the tents and at the front of each banda is a large covered veranda with a table and armchairs made from local materials affording great game viewing from the comfort of your tent.

THE FACILITIES

The central dining area and bar is positioned to give excellent viewing down the sand river beds. Dinner is often taken al fresco in the river bed with a variety of wildlife watching you eat.

THE SAFARIS

Mwagusi stands head and shoulders above virtually every other camp in Tanzania because of the all in wildlife experience. The guides make a stay at Mwagusi an education in the ways of the bush. Game drives are conducted in specially adapted open sided 4WD vehicles. Walking safaris from the camp take you into another world.

Total admiration! Ruaha should be on everybody’s list of must see destinations in Tanzania and if budget allows Mwagusi is the place to stay for a total safari experience. You will leave feeling privileged to have shared the knowledge of the guides at the camp.
