Ruaha River Lodge

The longest established lodge in Ruaha, with a stunning location on the banks of the Ruaha river. You hardly need to go on safari as a constant procession of wildlife passes the bandas throughout the day and night.

THE ACCOMMODATION

The largest lodge in Ruaha is basically split into 2 camps. There are 36 stone cottages in all but split into two areas between drive in and fly in guests. It is a large lodge but amazingly you don’t feel like it is crowded.
The cottages are spacious with en suite bathrooms and private verandah overlooking the river.

THE FACILITIES

Each separate camp has a different dining area, one set down near the river, the other built up in the kopjes overlooking the river.

THE VERDICT

Extremely good value and a stunning location in Tanzania’s most beautiful National Park. At peak seasons it is a very busy camp so try to visit outside the main tourist times. The kind of place where you want to stay just one more night, then another …… highly recommended.

Cost - $270p.p. plus $20 park fee plus $30 concession fee
