Tandala Camp

The camp is located just outside the park gate and is a welcome break on the ‘never ending road’. Being outside the park the camp also has direct benefit for the local communities.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Ten tented bandas raised on stilts with wide verandahs and large platforms. Most bandas overlook the Mdweka sand river which attracts seasonal wildlife. All tents are fully en suite and spacious.

THE FACILITIES

Large central bar, complete with a pool table, with old colonial style huge leather sofas and chairs. The separate dining area has outstanding French cuisine.
A swimming pool acts as a magnet for elephant.

THE SAFARIS

Game drives can be organised inside the park and walking safaris can be taken both from the camp and inside the park. The camp will also organise cultural visits to the local villages.

THE VERDICT

A really pleasant surprise, good quality accommodation, excellent food and healthy game activity in the camp environs. Difficult to compete with the camps inside the park for location but an excellent stop for arrival and departure days if coming by road.
