Do a different kind of Tanzania Safari: head to pristine dive sites and glorious beaches on Mafia Island instead of the busier Zanzibar
DAY 1: Dar es Salaam to Mafia Island
Start your Tanzania Safari with a flight from Dar to Mafia (45 mins) where you will met by the Authentic Tanzania Safaris Team and transferred to your boutique hotel on the west coast. Adjust to island time at Ras Mbisi Lodge (FB), a sustainably built beach retreat nestled between a coconut plantation and the Indian Ocean. Spend the first day of your Tanzania Safari exploring the 8km of deserted beach and limited phone coverage and internet access means you can truly unwind and relax here on your Tanzania Safari.
DAYS 2 to 4: White sandy beaches
Wake up in your spacious open tented room and breakfast on your private balcony. Spend some time at the pool or cooling off in the sea. The lodge can arrange Tanzania Safari excursions to local markets, sunset cruises, whaleshark watching or fishing trips. You can do as much or as little as you like. Each evening enjoy a sundowner on the raised bar terrace before tucking into hearty dinners made with locally grown produce.
DAY 5: Return to Dar es Salaam
Your transfer to the airport by the Authentic Tanzania Safaris Team and return flight to Dar es Salaam will be scheduled so that you allow plenty of time to check in for your international flight home.
