Udzungwa Mountains, Mikumi, Selous and Kilwa Safari - 9 day

This wildlife Safari has a 2 day extension from the Selous to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site at Kilwa Kisiwani with it's well preserved historical site.

DAY 1. MONDAY DAR ES SALAAM-UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS
Drive to Mangula HQ for Udzungwa Mountains (approx 6 hours). O/n Udzungwa Mountain View Hotel. (BB)

DAY 2. TUESDAY HIKING IN UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS
Walk to the Udzungwa Mountains N.P. HQ for registration, then short transfer by car to the start of the Sanje Falls hike. The hike takes from 5 to 7 hours depending on time spent relaxing at the falls and birdwatching. You are accompanied by a National Park guide. Met at the end of the hike and transferto Mikumi N.P. (approx 1 1/2 hours). Afternoon game drive. O/n Authentic Mikumi Camp. FB

DAY 3. WEDNESDAY MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
A full day to explore Tanzania’s third largest National Park.

DAY 4. THURSDAY MIKUMI-SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Approx 5hour drive through the beautiful Uluguru Mountains to Selous Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive to Mbega Camp/Lake Manze Camp/Rufiji River Camp. (FB)

DAY 5. FRIDAY SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Morning foot safari. Afternoon game drive through Selous G.R.

DAY 6. SATURDAY SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Morning game drive in Selous G.R. Afternoon boat safari on Rufiji River.

DAY 7. SUNDAY SELOUS-KILWA
Drive Selous-Kilwa (approx 7 hours). Afternoon to relax at beach.

DAY 8. MONDAY KILWA
Sail by dhow to Kilwa Kisiwani island to explore the ancient Omani UNESCO historical sites. Half day guided tour of the site. Afternoon to relax at beach.

DAY 9. TUESDAY KILWA-DAR ES SALAAM
Approx 7 hour drive back to Dar es Salaam.
