Katavi to Lake Tanganyika – Quad bike and Kayak Adventure
Safari
A safari for adrenaline junkies covering areas probably
untouched since the days of the great explorers from the majestic
Katavi National Park to the shores of Lake Tanganyika, undoubtedly
one of the most atmospheric and remote destinations in Africa.
This safari works well as an add on to Ruaha
National Park with flights from Ruaha-Katavi on Mondays and
Thursdays.
We recommend 3 nights on safari in Ruaha then 3
nights in Katavi before starting the
adventure safari outlined below. Please note this safari is going
to very remote areas and a certain level of fitness is required,
on the quad bike section you will be rough camping. But its also
alot of fun!
Monday – Depart from Katavi
National Park on quad bikes (self drive, suitable for two people).
Overnight in a fully equipped fly camp and enjoy a wonderful dinner
in the wild.

Tuesday – Continue the ride
of your life on the quad bikes arriving at Lake Shore Lodge on the
banks of Lake Tanganyika. Take in the incredible sunset and overnight
in one of the luxurious beach chalets.
Wednesday – Half day dive/kayak
excursion to a nearby island and back for lunch on Lake Shore Terrace
with the afternoon to relax.

Thursday – Begin your dive/kayak
safari. Spend the night in your own private campsite in one of the
pristine, sandy bays on the lakeshore.
Friday – Another day of awesome
diving/kayaking, picnic lunch on one of the remote beaches and dinner
served around a fire at the campsite.
Saturday – Today, enjoy more
diving/kayaking and return to the Lodge for a fabulous dinner.

Sunday – A day of relaxation
or more activity – you choose. End off your stay at the Lake
with a sunset cruise on a traditional dhow.
Monday – Drive back to Katavi
to meet your flight back to Dar es Salaam or Arusha
INCLUDING: All accommodation, meals,
laundry, dives and gear / kayaking, sunset sundowner cruise, transfer
back to Katavi NP and taxes.
EXCLUDING: Flights from Dar es
Salaam, Ruaha or Arusha to Katavi National Park and back (can be
