Dive Sites in Pemba

Pemba offers a range of diving from totally inexperienced to very exhilarating with fabulous walls, overhangs, swim throughs and a never ending variety of fish and marine life.

There are dive sites on both the EAST and WEST coasts of Pemba with coral covered walls, exhilarating drifts, caverns and immense, untouched coral reefs. At "Manta Point" an underwater mountain rises from a depth of 400m to just below the surface.

Other sites include "Christmas Reef", "Le Reef Cache”, "Chilli’s Wall" and Tora Bora Caves.

Huge schools of chevron and great barracuda, families of napoleon wrasse and 3m eagle rays cruise around the Pemban waters. Schools of surgeonfish flash past us heading into the depths. Manta rays make seasonal appearances migrating up the coast in large numbers later in the year. Huge jackfish (3m long) loiter below at 45m. Nearer the surface the coral bommies are surrounded by giant trevally, Moorish idols, and hundreds of unicorn fish. Occasionally you will see mantas and sharks, but these cannot be guaranteed.
