SAFARIS
Monsoon Safaris
Sail to the mystical locations of
Ilha de Mozambique, Ibo, Kilwa Kisiwani, Zanzibar, Comoros and Nosy
Be. The individual legs of the journey, each on offer as two-week
sailing safaris, will take you along the routes still used by the
dhows as they transport their goods up and down the coast, sailing
with the monsoon winds.
Monsoon Safaris offers you the opportunity to explore the East coast
of Africa from Ilha de Mozambique to Tanga in Tanzania, a distance
of eight hundred nautical miles.
The complete journey takes about three
and a half months and is divided into 14-day legs, operated twice
a year, sailing north and south with the monsoon winds. There are
seven legs on the south-north route with the return sail from Pemba
to the Comoros and Madagascar; and five legs on the north-south
route, from Tanga to Ilha de Mozambique.
